Rookie running back Montario Hardesty and the Browns have agreed to terms of a four-year deal the team said in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
The Browns chose Hardesty in the second round (59th overall) of this year's draft. He ran for 1,345 yards and 13 touchdowns during his senior season at the University of Tennessee. Hardesty was acquired in the draft when the Browns trade a third-round pick and two fifth-round picks to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hardesty, 6-foot-, 225 pounds, is expected to compete in training camp against veteran Jerome Harrison to become the Browns' featured running back.
The Browns have yet to sign first-round pick Joe Haden and second-round pick T.J Ward.
