In September 2011, Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson was detained after a shipment of marijuana allegedly arrived at his home. Forgotten in a season that included Simpson taking a dive and making a flip, the only flipping Simpson may soon be doing is on his supplier.

According to WLWT, Simpson has been indicted on one count of trafficking marijuana by a grand jury in Kentucky.

He faces one to five years in prison.

Simpson’s girlfriend, Aleen Smith, allegedly signed for 2.5 pounds of “high-grade” marijuana.

A second-round pick in 2008, Simpson is due to become a free agent in March. And that could be the last time the word “free” is used in reference to Simpson for quite some time.

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson could receive a 60-day jail sentence after pleading guilty Thursday to a drug-related felony charge as part of an agreement with prosecutors, further clouding his future in the NFL.

A judge will decide next month whether to accept the prosecutors’ recommendation or give him a more lenient sentence.

National Football League wide receiver Jerome Simpson will spend 15 days in jail after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge.

Simpson, an unrestricted free agent who has played for the Bengals since being drafted in the second round in 2008, was sentenced Thursday by Kenton Circuit Court Judge Gregory Bartlett. The sentence of three years probation includes the 15 day jail term and a $7,500 fine plus court costs.

Perfect place for Simpson where the no. 2 spot is wide open. Plus Simpson can supply Harvin with some medical marijuana when those migraines arise. In addition Chicago is not to far away and they seem to need a new drug rep now that sam puff is gone.

I thought about bumping this yesterday. Not really news, he was suspended (as I understand it) months ago, what the news was is that the suspension was upheld.
